1985
Founded in 1985 by Albert Girgenti as a pure importer and exporter of high quality Canadian pork serving the New York City market
1992
Moved to its own production facility following seven years of being a pure importer and distributor
2000
Capitalizing on significant opportunities in case ready production, AVA began adding retail programs in 2000, which ultimately established the business as an integral part of its customers’ sales efforts and retail experience
2003
Acquired its current facility in Hicksville, NY which enabled AVA to expand its solution set and geographic reach when the facility became operational in 2006
2005
Introduction of USDA regulatory standards for grocery meat departments that began the shift to case ready options
2012
Expanded operations to add just in time delivery capabilities, something that its competitors could not offer
